this update of Otolaryngologic Clinics of North America involving “Management of Laryngeal Malignancy.” This issue chronicles the continued evolution crafted by the talented core of Head and Neck Oncologists in our field. There is continued emphasis on the preservation of laryngeal function (or more specifically, restitution of laryngeal function) should it be compromised by disease or specific treatment. Please note that the parameters of laryngeal surgery are ever expansive, such that subtotal and extended, partial laryngectomies take on new dimensions three dimensionally.
