Hereditary Cancer Syndromes
Edited by I. Jatoi
Genetic testing for cancer susceptibility is now widely utilized. Clinicians can identify individuals with a genetic predisposition for cancer and provide options to reduce cancer risk. Increasingly, surgeons are playing a key role in the management of these patients. Thus, surgeons should be fully aware of the various strategies that are available for the management of individuals with a genetic predisposition for cancer, including screening, chemoprevention, and prophylactic surgery. However, collaboration with physicians of other disciplines remains essential.

This issue of Surgical Clinics of North America contains 10 articles, written by experts from North America and Europe. These articles review various topics relevant to the surgical management of patients with hereditary cancer syndromes.
